About The Position

From a staff position, and under general supervision, is responsible for large departmental computer hardware relocations, opening of new facilities, new application deployments and upgrades in a clinical and business environment. Attention to detail, works well under pressure, uses professional approach, proactive and takes initiative and successful at building and maintaining relations within a team, other departments and external stakeholders and has a high level of self-motivation. Recommends, installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots, and tests end-user computer hardware and software. Responsible for creation of documentation for training and support of hardware support. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree Computer sciences
  • Computer-related field 1-3 years
  • Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Ability to understand complex verbal and written communications, and respond verbally or in writing as appropriate. Typical mediums of communication include face-to-face dialog, telephone, documentation, presentations, memos, and electronic mail.
  • Demonstrates sound analytical, technical, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Proven expertise in Information Technology support commensurate with education/experience.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and other documentation to determine correct action, safety precautions, and other conditions of proper hardware and software operation.
  • Subject to mandatory on-call duties and call back at all times.
  • Ability to work varying hours due to the accessibility of individuals or equipment involved in different projects, the need to minimize system downtime or Customer interruption, or to recover from hardware or software failures.
  • Must provide own transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS)

Responsibilities

  • Recommends, installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots, tests, and supports end-user hardware and software applications.
  • Escalates calls appropriately and works with other technical resources to ensure customer issues and concerns are addressed.
  • Attends and completes educational sessions, both mandatory and elective.
  • Provides technical training and educational sessions to individuals or groups.
  • Responds to customer calls and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Provides Manager, customers, and vendors with timely and accurate information.
  • Effectively communicates with appropriate parties, both verbally and in writing.
  • Informs Manager of any security concerns or policy violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
