About The Position

The SSI Career Resource Center (CRC) offers basic computer skills assistance services free of charge to the community. IT Support Techs are responsible for teaching and assisting customers with job-related and personal computer use skills.

Requirements

  • Must reside in SBA HUBZone map area: HUBZone Map
  • Must possess verbal and written communication skills sufficient to complete online and on-the-job training.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned training tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, pick up new concepts and technologies via on-the-job training and assigned reading.
  • Moderate knowledge of personal computers and peripherals such as scanners and printers.
  • Knowledge of and/or hands-on experience with current Windows and/or Apple operating systems
  • MUST live in a current designated HUBZone. See HUBZone Map to check your address and verify it complies with the requirement.
  • Must be capable of passing a simple background check
  • High School Diploma, GED or evidence of current program of studies enrollment

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent Spanish speaker a plus
  • Bi-lingual, Fluent in Spanish and English a plus

Responsibilities

  • Basic computer use, including keyboard and mouse
  • Microsoft Windows basic use/navigation
  • Web browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) use
  • Email setup and use (web-based or Outlook)
  • Basic internet search skills (job postings, family search, educational research)
  • Basic use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Resume formatting
