About The Position

The IT Specialist, under the supervision of the IT Manager, is responsible for supporting the secure and efficient delivery of technology services for Thompson Valley Health Services District (TVEMS). This position provides technical support across all departments and assists with maintaining computer systems, software applications, communication systems, and IT infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in Information Technology support and troubleshooting, including diagnosing and resolving technical support tickets, providing customers with direct and phone-based technical assistance, and maintaining reliable IT operations.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts including DNS, IP addressing, and router configuration.
  • Familiarity with Azure product suite, including set up and maintenance of Active Directory and SQL Server environments.
  • Exposure to electronic patient care reporting software, specifically ESO.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable in networking concepts including Wi-Fi connectivity, IP addressing, DNS, and router configuration.
  • Experienced with Microsoft 365 applications and support services.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with experience assisting users in resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Familiar with IT best practices and help desk support environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Network+ are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Support networking and communication systems including Wi-Fi connectivity, phone systems, and fax systems.
  • Assist staff with business, clinical, billing, quality, and administrative software applications.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot IT systems, databases, and related infrastructure to support operational efficiency.
  • Assist with basic website maintenance and coordinate with vendors or contractors for upgrades and support.
  • Monitor systems for potential cybersecurity threats and follow IT security best practices.
  • Provide end-user training, technical guidance, and support documentation as needed.
  • Travel to satellite stations within the district to troubleshoot and repair IT equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
