About The Position

Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of computer hardware and software at the Aphena Pharma Solutions, Easton, MD location. Maintains all Business Unit’s IT systems, including the local area network, servers, database systems, user platforms, and applications. Advises management on issues related to the use of IT that may impact business objectives.

Requirements

  • Normal vision and hearing.
  • A mixture of sedentary work and periods of light work as required.
  • Exposure to inside office, manufacturing, and warehousing environments.
  • Oral and written communication: associate must be able to receive, understand and communicate verbal and written instructions.
  • Push/pull/lift/carry up to approx. 50 lb. on a regular basis and more than 50 lb. on an occasional basis to obtain/deliver work related materials and equipment from/to various locations.
  • Excellent overall technical background is required with a strong understanding of Microsoft technologies in a business environment.
  • Well-organized and detail oriented professional.
  • Communicates in an effective and courteous manner with different types of people, including technical, non-technical, and managerial associates.
  • Individual must be a highly motivated self-starting team player that can successfully manage multiple priorities in a timely fashion with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to manage complex, technical projects.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with and through people.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret technical documentation.
  • Ability to write reports and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to express oneself logically and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and develop effective and efficient solutions to system problems in a timely manner.
  • Provide computer related support and instruction to non-technical system users without displaying frustration or ridicule.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation to continually improve personal IT knowledge/skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline and/or five years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-discipline IT experience is preferred from such areas as user support, hardware maintenance, networking operations, systems administration.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, technical support, and documentation of IT systems.
  • Plans and completes various IT related projects to achieve system improvements.
  • Assists users with new and existing applications.
  • Plans, implements, and monitors system backup and recovery procedures.
  • Plans and implements computer systems security procedures.
  • Plans and controls Business Unit’s information systems to ensure that they are consistent with the Company’s business plan.
  • Plans for and maintains integration with corporate-wide IT systems.
  • Ensures compliance with all software licensing requirements.
  • Manages crisis situations that may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.
  • Prioritizes tasks taking into consideration the relative impact to business objectives.
  • Adheres to cGMP requirements, and other relevant policies, laws, rules and regulations.
  • Participates in and completes all company-required training.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Maintains knowledge of developments in computer systems and hardware and incorporates new developments into the future systems of the Business Unit.
  • Maintain inventories of computer hardware, and software licenses.
  • Maintain documentation of hardware and software installations and configurations.
