About The Position

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees, ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems and hardware. This role focuses on troubleshooting, assisting with IT-related issues, and maintaining IT infrastructure while ensuring employees have the necessary tools to perform their work effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
  • Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively support end-users.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Assist with setting up and managing user accounts, email configurations, and access permissions.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for network-related issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN, etc.).
  • Support IT asset management, including inventory tracking, procurement assistance, and equipment setup.
  • Provide training and support to employees on common software applications and IT best practices.
  • Document support requests, solutions, and maintain an internal IT knowledge base.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and assist in implementing security protocols.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and patch management.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for troubleshooting hardware or software issues beyond internal capabilities.
