About The Position

Bachoco USA is seeking a Help Desk Technician 2 for our Central Offices in Fort Smith, AR. This role provides second-level support for Plant Help Desk Technicians and oversees the client technology environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, and recommending and evaluating hardware and software solutions. The position requires travel and work within office areas, poultry plant, and feed plant locations, with a flexible schedule to support facilities operating 24/7 and to participate in an on-call 24/7 support rotation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to qualify for the company driver program
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and a very good understanding of PC, Printer and Networking hardware
  • Performs all aspects of the job with little assistance from others
  • Demonstrates a positive and helpful attitude in all aspects of the position and is able to perform all help desk related tasks with minimal guidance
  • Makes an effort to stay current in the computer science field
  • Must have two or more years of experience in the help desk function before being considered for promotion to the next level
  • Complies with O.K. Foods policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd level support for plant help desk technicians
  • Analyze and recommend new software and hardware solutions
  • Oversee upgrades of all existing client software and hardware solutions
  • Oversee antivirus/antimalware solution for all clients
  • Create/Update scripts to aid in automated processes
  • Create/Update client OS images to standardize installations
  • Assist in support various third-party vendors with plant specific computer systems
  • Assist troubleshooting all issues with client devices and software including Windows OS, Microsoft Office products, and various software applications
  • Oversee the routine upgrades of software and operating systems with latest security patches
  • Configure and install client equipment for end users, including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, MFPs, Projectors, TVs, Desk phones, and cell phones
  • Document hardware locations and configurations with IT inventory system
  • Use Help Desk ticket system to track all support requests
  • Review and document all changes or new processes in IT knowledgebase system
  • Travel and work within office areas, poultry plant, and feed plant locations
  • Requires a flexible schedule to support facilities in production 24/7 as well as to participate in an on-call 24/7 support rotation
