Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, College Diploma or related experience, in information technology or related field.
  • 7 years of IT experience.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and software applications.
  • 3 years supervising an IT department, group or team, or equivalent experience is required
  • Extensive experience in network support including routing, switching, firewalls, and ip telephony
  • Experience working in an IT department with ITIL processes and a service desk system.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent listening and interpersonal ski
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Highly self-motivated and directed; keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Consistently demonstrates use of Linamar Core Values and mentor's others in use of Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an IT team, providing direction and support.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to integrate solutions with the overall IT strategy.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Support, foster, promote, and demonstrate Linamar’s core values and leadership behaviors.
  • Manage projects in accordance with Linamar IT project management procedures to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Establish yearly IT Budget for Capital and Expenses
  • Assign personnel, direct their activities, evaluate their work, and conduct probationary/annual performance reviews for direct employees.
  • Maintain personnel job descriptions.
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and business units.
  • Supervise personnel by providing mentorship, motivation, follow-up, and discipline as necessary.
  • Make personnel decisions (hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.).
  • Create, maintain, and arrange for the posting of IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure that the system documentation is kept up to date.
  • Track and analyze trends using Linamar KPIs.
  • Ensure that applicable IT Service Level Agreements are consistently met.
