About The Position

This position supports a department or functional area by performing assigned tasks and assisting with projects, providing the intern with hands-on exposure to the business function. The role is designed to help the intern develop foundational knowledge and skills relevant to the support specialty area. The intern will learn to deploy, support, maintain, and troubleshoot computers and other end-user devices. This position provides exposure to a subset of the overall responsibilities within the support function and requires additional guidance and training to achieve full proficiency. The role operates under the supervision and direction of higher-level technical professionals, including Associate, Staff, Senior, and Consultant-level team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong research, organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to teach users.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a graceful and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer hardware (pc, mouse, monitor, keyboard).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation with keen attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Students in Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of team members, they learn to resolve minor computer issues.
  • Adequately documents notes and resolution to issues in ITIL ticketing system.
  • Updates support staff regularly on the status of projects, incidents, service requests.
  • Responds to messages according to priority schedule.
  • Under the direction of team members, they learn to support new and existing systems while keeping abreast of technology changes.
  • Under the direction of team members, implements enterprise defined security policies (hardware and software).
  • Works with team members to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals.
  • Gains knowledge of the department’s / facility’s functions.
  • Under the direction of team members, the CFS Intern is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department / facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
