IT Strategic Sourcing (Sr Associate) - Jersey City, NJ & Tampa, FL
About The Position
This role supports the Sourcing team's partnership with business customers to achieve organizational sourcing strategy, financial, and operational control objectives. The position involves managing supplier relationships to foster strategic partnerships, overseeing the full lifecycle of strategic sourcing (including RFx), contracting, and procurement workflow. It also includes proactively managing renewals to drive savings and mitigate disruptions, participating in value-driven QBRs for key IT vendors, and leveraging data to identify savings and efficiency opportunities. The role requires leading sourcing projects, developing subject matter expertise, conducting negotiations, reviewing requests and proposals, initiating supplier onboarding, and coordinating with customers and Sourcing Directors. A key aspect is aligning risk and control processes into daily responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years of IT Strategic Sourcing and Category Mgmt. at a global organization, preferably in financial services.
- Experience and proven success developing RFXs and negotiating HW, software, telecom/networking, private cloud, public cloud, and IT professional services contracts.
- Knowledge of enterprise IT vendors as well as emerging technology providers.
- Strong organizational competency with the ability to independently manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable with organization change and transformation.
Responsibilities
- Support the Sourcing team’s partnership with the business customers to deliver on the organizational sourcing strategy to meet financial and operational control objectives.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to foster strategic partnerships that enable continuous value-delivery.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of the strategic sourcing (including RFx), contracting, and downstream procurement workflow.
- Pro-actively manage renewals to drive savings and mitigate business disruptions.
- Participate in value driven QBRs for key IT vendors
- Leverage spend and contract data to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Lead sourcing projects by identifying clear objectives that consider financial, risk, and operational benefits.
- Continuously develop subject matter expertise via benchmarking/research, industry/peer collaboration, training, and client feedback
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts while ensuring alignment with goals.
- Review requests via centralized intake tool and gather requirements from business clients.
- Review supplier proposals and facilitate process for final vendor selection with appropriate customers
- Initiate supplier onboarding process and coordinate with suppliers to facilitate onboarding process; manage any required troubleshooting
- Coordinate with customers to provide general insight to current request status and expected timeline
- Work closely with corresponding Sourcing Directors to ensure comprehensive understanding of category strategy, requirements and targets
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; increases appropriately
