About The Position

The Senior Automation Engineer will join the Jetsons squad, the intelligent automation engine within the Automation & Productivity group. The role combines RPA delivery, AI integration strategy, and production engineering, with responsibility for architecting, building, and owning automation solutions from the ground up. The engineer will assess whether RPA, AI, or a hybrid approach best addresses a need and maintain the stability of a live production automation environment supporting investment operations. The position involves developing end-to-end automation and React-based tools, integrating LLM APIs and AI-native patterns where appropriate, and collaborating with product owners and business teams to scope and deliver solutions. It also includes production support, technical documentation, mentorship, and evaluating emerging automation and AI tools. The role requires availability for core Eastern Time business hours and participation in sprint and PI ceremonies. The stated duration is six months.

  • Experience with React 18 or later, TypeScript, component architecture, and integration with REST/API backends.
  • Availability during core Eastern Time business hours and for sprint and PI ceremonies.
  • Experience in process assessment, ROI and cost-saving analysis, solution design, and implementation planning.
  • Experience monitoring live automation environments, triaging incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing remediation.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Anthropic APIs, and with RAG pipelines, function calling, or streaming UX patterns.
  • Active participation in PI planning, sprint ceremonies, and backlog refinement; Jira proficiency.
  • Experience with Snowflake querying, pipeline integration, and analytics workflows.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions or CI/CD.
  • Experience with REST APIs and RPA architecture.
  • Ability to make sound architectural decisions about RPA and AI, assess business impact, and communicate technical tradeoffs to business stakeholders, compliance teams, and leadership.
  • Ability to document technical designs and operational processes clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Python or C# scripting and custom component development within automation pipelines.
  • Experience with Arc42 documentation, design specifications, API contracts, and operational runbooks.
  • Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, RAG pipelines, Azure OpenAI, or SAFe Agile.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, and deploy end-to-end automation solutions focused on business value, cost savings, and operational efficiency across investment workflows.
  • Own production automation stability by monitoring live bots, triaging incidents, resolving issues, and maintaining a zero-defect delivery posture.
  • Evaluate automation requests and emerging AI capabilities to determine whether RPA, AI, or a hybrid approach is appropriate.
  • Build and maintain React-based front-end interfaces for automation outputs, operational dashboards, and AI-powered workflow tools.
  • Integrate LLM APIs and AI patterns, including RAG pipelines, function calling, and streaming interfaces, into automation and operational tools where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner in PI planning and sprint ceremonies to turn business requirements into scoped automation epics and user stories.
  • Work with business units to gather requirements, assess automation opportunities, and design workflows that address operational and regulatory needs.
  • Document automation architecture, design decisions, and process flows using Arc42 or equivalent frameworks.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish code quality standards, review practices, and AI integration patterns.
  • Support the evaluation and adoption of automation and AI tools, including UiPath Autopilot, agentic workflow frameworks, and Snowflake-integrated data pipelines.
  • Represent automation capabilities and interests in collaboration with Intelligent Automation teams across the enterprise.
  • Assess processes, analyze ROI and cost savings, and plan automation solution implementation.
  • Monitor production environments, investigate root causes, and remediate live automation issues.
