About The Position

The IT Specialist ensures that the technological needs within BASF ECMS are met and addressed. The aim is to ensure smooth IT operations and services at the respective sites. The IT Specialist oversees operations, troubleshoots issues and risks as needed and manages implementation of projects. This individual will have a hybrid work arrangement and typically expected to work onsite 3 days a week. It is possible that if high priority incidents or projects arise additional days in the office might be required but not common practice. You will support two of our office locations in NJ in person on those days. The office locations are Iselin and Union, NJ.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or bachelors degree in an IT related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant Information Technology experience required.
  • Experience with agile / SCRUM IT project management required.
  • Experience in managing and interacting with third party service providers required
  • Experience to support IT devices (i.e. Laptops, Printers, mobile devices), manage licenses, manage IT assets and services, and manage IT requirements required.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems required
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation required
  • Ability to support and oversee projects through project management skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business-orientation
  • A high level of self-motivation to make things happen in a new environment

Nice To Haves

  • A+, Network+, and Security+ from CompTIA
  • Google IT Support Professional, Cisco Certified Technician, and Microsoft Technology
  • Knowledge of ERP software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage local IT projects at relevant sites and provide localization support
  • Oversee IT and data operations at relevant sites and report to regional or global counterparts
  • Apply and adapt global policies and procedures to the local level
  • Recognize and address user needs in alignment with the global IT function and teams; Identify opportunities at the local level to improve business value using Information Technology
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems – be local extension of global Cyber Security team
  • Manage the local IT equipment at relevant sites within the practice lifecycle (such as laptops)
  • Provide critical IT support for end-user (in case Service Desk can not deliver)
  • Take responsibility for maintaining the local IT asset and service catalogue
  • Mitigate and resolve localized issues; escalate critical incidents to regional managers or vendors as needed
  • Oversee vendor and service management at the local level regarding e.g., demand capturing, vendor evaluation. SLA management, performance reviews, commercial reviews, risk mitigations, identification of improvements
  • Regularly engage in knowledge sharing and cross site and regional alignment
