Overview of position: FEDITC is seeking an IT Specialist Sys Admin/Network (Telephone office) to work at Texarkana TX. A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of prevailing practices in Information Technology to propose alternative approaches in applications system development and/or to resolve problems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience using drills, cable testers, crimpers, and other basic tools and electronic test and repair equipment for installation and maintenance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
  • Ability to follow written instructions, experience with schematics and wiring diagrams preferred.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
  • Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep work area clean and orderly
  • Follow proper safety procedures, wear protective gear, and ensure all work meets quality standards
  • Must be comfortable working in commercial and industrial settings: at heights, in confined spaces, on ladders, lifts, catwalks, and crawlspaces
  • Applicant must be capable of operating/obtaining a forklift license with training
  • Applicant must be capable of operating/obtaining a Bucket truck license with training
  • Must have a clean criminal record and be able to pass a thorough background investigation
  • High School Diploma or GED minimum requirement; Associate degree or significant work experience in electronics or computer technology field is preferred
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check.
  • Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).

Responsibilities

  • Must have knowledge skills and ability to administrate various voice communication systems, platforms, servers and operating systems
  • Must have knowledge skills and ability to apply Army cyber security processes and standards to assigned systems in accordance with the Risk Management Framework, these processes include but are not limited to: STIGs, SRGs, IAVAs, PPL and CAL assurance
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair VoIP business phones and related software.
  • Ability to coordinate with interdepartmental professionals, such as network personnel, to take corrective action toward any system outage or issue involving overlapping areas of knowledge
  • Ability to place, troubleshoot and repair inside, outside, and premise LAN and legacy telecommunication infrastructure cabling
  • Must have network skills and knowledge in managing and configuring small scale private networks.
  • Perform RRAD outside plant infrastructure utility locates per Texas 811 standards
  • Ability to read and understand cable infrastructure placement on various medium: maps, CAD, GIS; make updates as needed
  • Provision customer telephony profile requirements within the Ribbon AS local session controller
  • Safely perform any Information Technology duty necessary/assigned to ensure connectivity, security, customer service and RRAD IT systems continuity of operation.
  • Update/maintain telephone records in telephone management system
  • Enter, update, and complete telephone and IT cases and incidents within whichever ticketing system is in use at the time
  • Coordinate with system vendors and support engineers when needed to perform vendor proprietary updates, report or escalate vendor platform issues, ensure vendors are aware of the latest system security requirement
  • Maintain System security and process documentation in the form of SSPs and TTPs
