About The Position

The IT Specialist Internship supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. They will provide first-level technical support to users experiencing hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and help troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems under the guidance of senior IT staff. Responsibilities also include assisting with account creation, password resets, and user access requests, supporting workstation deployments, equipment upgrades, and inventory management activities. The intern will maintain accurate IT documentation, user guides, asset records, and service logs, and assist with software installations, updates, and patch management. They will participate in routine system monitoring, report issues to senior administrators, and support network and infrastructure teams with basic configuration, testing, and troubleshooting tasks. The role also involves learning and following organizational cybersecurity policies and best practices, participating in team meetings, training opportunities, and special IT projects, and providing professional customer service while supporting end users. The duration of this internship will be six months from the start date.

Requirements

  • Must have or the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or similar certification (or currently pursuing certification).
