About The Position

This position provides IT Services and support of the Real-Time Systems (RTS) utilized by Power Delivery, System Planning (SPO), Power Generation, and Utility Operations and advanced expertise of Operations Technology (OT) applications in a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) environment. The primary responsibilities include day-to-day support of host modeling and display building for Entergy’s GMS SCADA System (Generation Management System).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical degree and equivalent work experience required
  • IT Specialist I: 0-2 years’ experience of relevant technology delivery with Subject Matter Expertise for Operational Technology (OT)
  • IT Specialist II: 2-4 years’ experience of relevant technology delivery with Subject Matter Expertise for Operational Technology (OT)
  • IT Specialist Sr: 4+ years’ experience of relevant technology delivery with Subject Matter Expertise for Operational Technology (OT)
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment, including work outside of normal business hours
  • Ability to support real-time systems
  • Ability to support cyber security activities such as, system hardening, patch management, and configuration management
  • Knowledge of security controls testing, security audits, and security assessments
  • Ability to support fraud and computer forensics research
  • Strong track record of relevant technology delivery
  • Design, development and testing of real time system applications and enhancements
  • Database Administration – experience with development, testing and operating databases
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position.

Nice To Haves

  • GE Grid Solutions product line experience, e-terrahabitat and e-terraplatform is preferred
  • specific experience with SCADA, ICCP, and Generation & Network modelign, User Interfaces highly preferred
  • Comparable experience in alternate EMS vendors is acceptable, upon review.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for Entergy’s Generation Management (GMS) and ICCP Systems, ensuring production systems and devices are online and available; this includes non-business hours on-call support
  • Coordinate Transmission system updates with external partners via ICCP systems
  • Support and maintenance of the Transmission operational system maps rendered on the digital wallboards
  • Implement required EMS / SCADA model and display changes in coordination with new Engineering, Capital Construction, and Operations and Maintenance requests
  • Perform database analysis in response to data and design requests from Engineering, Capital Construction, Operations and Maintenance, and External Utility organizations
  • Verify system operation, database integrity, and data presentation effectiveness on a routine basis, responding to dispatcher requests for assistance, repairs, and improvements
  • Ensure compliance with NERC Reliability and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards
  • Respond to service requests for support from Transmission/Generation/LBA Operations
  • Coordinate database modifications with Operations Centers
  • Participate in 24x7 weekly on-call rotation
