Under the supervision of the Information Technology Director, Manager, or their designee, this position maintains the City’s surveillance, wireless and fiber infrastructure, and the underlying supporting network. This role is responsible for procuring, implementing, documenting, and maintaining these systems to ensure secure, reliable operations throughout City departments. The IT specialist will collaborate closely with the IT Systems and Network Analyst, as well as City staff, vendors, and consultants; provide technical support and training; and contribute to evaluating future technologies. This position is full-time, on-site and occasionally requires evenings or weekends. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives working independently under broad direction, maintains strong organization across concurrent tasks, communicates with clarity and precision, and consistently follows through without the need for close supervision. This role also requires the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of City departments, building productive working relationships and ensuring information is shared accurately and efficiently. Additionally, the candidate must be comfortable dividing their time between indoor and outdoor environments—often in varying weather conditions and heights—to install, troubleshoot, and maintain City equipment.
