The IT Specialist I role involves troubleshooting user hardware, software, and connectivity issues in an enterprise environment, including printer connectivity, Outlook and MSOffice issues, password resets, wireless/wired connectivity troubleshooting, and folder/file permissions. The role also includes basic Active Directory tasks such as account and object creation/modification, working with Security Groups and Organizational Units, and learning basic PowerShell for information gathering. Additionally, it involves basic Exchange and/or Office365 tasks like confirming email addresses and checking/updating distribution lists. The IT Specialist I will work with tickets in Service Now, performing updates, assignments, closures, sorting, and filtering. Basic break/fix for end-users, setup of company events from an IT perspective (including A/V and computer support), and simple documentation are also key responsibilities. The role requires experience in a Windows environment, hardware troubleshooting, network security, and network administration. The ability to be on-call for critical off-hours support on a rotating basis (monthly) is necessary, along with basic knowledge of network connectivity, protocols, and security devices, including VPN troubleshooting. Strong communication skills (in-person, phone, written) are essential for managing expectations and deescalating stressed users/situations.
