About The Position

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking an IT Security Technician to support the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC), the Unified Judicial System (UJS), and statewide court agency systems. This position will play a key role in maintaining enterprise cybersecurity infrastructure, monitoring and mitigating threats, responding to security incidents, and supporting the protection of a complex statewide judicial network. As an IT Security Technician you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, maintenance, and operational oversight of enterprise security infrastructure across the AOPC, Unified Judicial System, and various court and state agency environments. You will monitor security events, investigate vulnerabilities and threats, assist with incident response and remediation, maintain network security technologies and firewalls, and help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, servers, and data.

Requirements

  • More than 3 years of professional work experience in Information Technology Security or a related field.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Experience supporting network and cybersecurity infrastructure, security monitoring, vulnerability management, or related security operations.
  • Ability to analyze security logs, investigate security events, identify vulnerabilities, and support appropriate remediation efforts.
  • Ability to support security infrastructure across complex networked environments.
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 and after-hours support for network and security-related issues.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check conducted by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.
  • Experience supporting enterprise firewall technologies and developing or deploying firewall rules.
  • Experience with security event correlation, incident response, and threat analysis.
  • Experience with endpoint protection and enterprise security monitoring solutions.
  • Experience performing vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security audits.
  • Experience supporting WAN, LAN, and Internet security environments.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and security-related service recovery.
  • Experience working within large, distributed, or statewide network environments.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, implement, and maintain enterprise security infrastructure supporting AOPC, UJS networks, and court and state agency systems.
  • Develop, configure, implement, and maintain security standards, policies, procedures, and network security controls across WAN, LAN, and Internet environments.
  • Identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities through security logs, network analysis, system observations, and other security monitoring activities, and implement appropriate mitigation solutions.
  • Assist with the administration of enterprise security event correlation and incident response programs covering more than 3,000 networked hosts.
  • Analyze security logs, research event sources, investigate security events, and determine and execute appropriate remediation or mitigation strategies.
  • Administer and provide operational support for endpoint protection programs across AOPC and Supreme Court environments.
  • Assist with the administration of the system and network vulnerability management program, including scanning network-connected assets for known vulnerabilities.
  • Research industry and vendor information related to identified vulnerabilities and work with technical staff and management to facilitate remediation.
  • Perform routine security audits, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, active security monitoring, and security policy enforcement.
  • Assist with the deployment of complex security programs and the development of business intelligence and threat analytics reports to address system-wide security concerns.
  • Design, create, test, and deploy network firewall rules across enterprise firewalls.
  • Perform technical log reviews and security investigations for enterprise security products.
  • Receive and respond to internal service tickets involving network and security issues.
  • Communicate network security vulnerabilities, remediation strategies, application security concerns, communications issues, and performance issues to the Security Supervisor.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and execution for security-related services.
  • Provide security awareness support and promote sound security principles throughout the organization.
  • Provide 24/7 support for network and security-related issues, deployments, and critical incidents affecting AOPC, UJS networks, and statewide agencies.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical and non-critical security-related issues as required.
