About The Position

Medical Mutual is seeking an IT Security Specialist to join their team. This is a hybrid role based in Dublin, OH, requiring three days per week on-site. The IT Security Specialist will perform day-to-day operations related to security functions, including policy administration/enforcement, project management, physical security, mainframe provisioning, and audit liaison. The role involves interacting with users for access requests, reviewing project documentation to assess risk, participating in security projects, and supporting corporate certification initiatives. There are multiple levels for this role (I, II, III, IV) with increasing complexity and required experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 Year of relevant IT experience (for Specialist I)
  • 3 years relevant IT experience (for Specialist II)
  • 5 years relevant IT experience (for Specialist III)
  • 7 Years Relevant IT Experience (for Specialist IV)
  • Basic understanding of current technical architecture including but not limited to server, network, application firewall (for Specialist I)
  • Intermediate understanding of current technical architecture including but not limited to server, network, application firewall (for Specialist II & III)
  • Advanced Understanding of current technical architecture including but not limited to server, network, application firewall (for Specialist IV)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) preferred (for Specialist II, III, IV)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred (for Specialist II, III, IV)

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with users requests to ensure appropriate accesses are granted to system and audit controls are in place.
  • Reviews project documentation relating to Development, Servers and Network resources to determine and document risk associated to policy enforcement and administration.
  • Participates in projects specific to security, including aligning internal and external resources to complete projects critical to Security Administration; performs routine physical security planning/review including card key access; interacts with audits and auditors to support and maintain corporate certification initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
