About The Position

The IT Security Analyst (Entry-Level) helps protect the organization's networks, systems, and data by monitoring for threats, responding to security incidents, and supporting vulnerability and compliance efforts. This is a hands-on, entry-level role designed for someone early in their security career who will grow into broader security responsibilities under the guidance of senior IT and security staff.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Working knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and general IT support concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; willingness to learn.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Have fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in English.
  • Adhere to guidelines, policies, and procedures as described in the Jacam Catalyst handbook.
  • Adhere to Jacam Catalyst’s Drug and Alcohol policy and agree to submit to random drug testing as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA Security+ (or actively pursuing); Network+ or CySA+ a plus.
  • Prior help desk, desktop support, or systems administration exposure.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint protection, MFA/identity, or vulnerability scanning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor networks, servers, endpoints, and logs for suspicious or anomalous activity.
  • Escalate and assist in resolving security issues as they are identified.
  • Help maintain and tune security tooling (SIEM, endpoint protection, email security).
  • Respond to security alerts and incidents; assist with containment and remediation.
  • Perform basic root-cause analysis to help prevent recurrence.
  • Document incidents and maintain accurate response records.
  • Run vulnerability scans and help coordinate remediation efforts.
  • Track weak points and follow up with system owners on patching.
  • Assist in coordinating periodic penetration tests.
  • Evaluate systems for risk exposure and help ensure compliance with current policies.
  • Support internal audits and security reviews.
  • Assist with security awareness training and user education efforts.
