About The Position

The IT Security Analyst will serve as an integral member of the IT team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: Configure, edit and create system rules in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Interpret logs, alarms and incidents with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). Coordinate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and investigate security incidents. Direct and coordinate responses with team members and other departments. Conduct and analyze security vulnerability scans of devices and applications to identify weaknesses and identify and deploy remediation processes. Review, research, recommend and deploy updates and patches of operating systems and applications with patch management systems. Configure rules, deploy policies and review incidents within the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and coordinate changes with managed services providers. Manage cyber security employee awareness program and training systems. Configure, test, deploy and monitor usage templates for web and DNS filtering systems. Design, deploy and enhance application and security posture with Multifactor Authentication (MFA). Conduct security reviews of proposed upgrades and new implementations of IT systems and applications. Produce security system related reports for management. Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrates active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of cybersecurity or IT experience. Internships, co-op programs, military experience, and industry certifications such as Security+ may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Firewalls or Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) is required
  • The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.

Nice To Haves

  • Windows server administration experience is preferred
  • CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst CYSA+
  • Cisco CCNA or Cyber Ops Associate
