About The Position

The IT Security Analyst assists with monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats against Holland & Knight. The position is based at the Firm’s global operations center in Tampa, Florida, or Dallas, Texas, and supports security operations across a diverse technology environment. The analyst monitors security events from a range of devices, maintains security tools and agents, and helps investigate and remediate vulnerabilities and other security risks. The role involves working independently and with a team, staying current on cybersecurity threats and countermeasures, and providing periodic on-call support outside business hours. The analyst is expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and remain engaged during business hours, with additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite or Microsoft 365.
Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and Windows 10/11.
Knowledge of Cisco LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
Knowledge of security infrastructure applications, including endpoint detection and response tools, automated systems management, vulnerability management tools, password management tools, and email server security.
Knowledge of office productivity software, popular browsers, security-related software analysis and protection, and other business applications.

Nice To Haves

Four or more years of experience in a technical support role or other job-related experience supporting security-related technology in a diverse technology environment.
Experience with SIEM or another scalable log management solution, including system configuration and tuning.
Experience with vulnerability scanning and reporting tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7.
Experience monitoring and administering technical security controls such as firewalls, web filters, and antivirus solutions.
Current SANS and/or other security certifications.

Responsibilities

Assist with monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events from a wide range of devices.
Prioritize and complete tasks independently or as part of a team.
Perform general operations maintenance on security tools and agents.
Process and correlate technical information from multiple sources to support investigations.
Stay current on cybersecurity vulnerabilities, exploits, malicious activity, and countermeasures.
Provide periodic on-call support for security operations during non-business hours.
Assist with scanning systems for known vulnerabilities and support remediation efforts.
Analyze and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities.
Identify risks to the Firm and assist with mitigating them to an acceptable level.
Maintain knowledge of vendor products, services, and security technologies, and recommend or implement their use.
Approach problems, projects, and incidents professionally, objectively, and with openness to new ideas and solutions.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and remain attentive and engaged during business hours, unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned.
