About The Position

The Security Analyst position works as a member of the Incident Response Team. The Security Analyst position remediates cyber incidents and vulnerabilities while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of State of Michigan data.

Requirements

  • Possession of an Associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics (for IT Programmer/Analyst 9).
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics (for IT Programmer/Analyst P11/12).
  • Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 (for IT Programmer/Analyst 12).
  • Completion of high school and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT Technician, or two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant (may substitute for education requirement for IT Programmer/Analyst 9).
  • Possession of an associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant (may substitute for education requirement for IT Programmer/Analyst P11-12).
  • Completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant (may substitute for education requirement for IT Programmer/Analyst P11-12).
  • Must complete the Michigan State Police background check, which requires fingerprinting for state and federal criminal background records. The background check search will include, but is not limited to, arrests, criminal charges, criminal convictions, and any information regarding contact with a criminal justice agency.
  • Must complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
