The IT&S Director serves as the primary liaison between hospital leadership and enterprise IT, ensuring local needs are represented in system-wide planning and that enterprise strategies are effectively implemented at the facility level. This role participates in enterprise governance councils and contributes to the development and enforcement of data governance, cybersecurity, and technology standards. The Director leads the hospital's IT strategic planning process, aligning technology initiatives with both hospital and enterprise goals. The position oversees day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and support services, ensuring high availability and performance of clinical and business systems. It involves implementing and monitoring IT service management processes, incident response, and change management in accordance with enterprise policies, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH). The Director also leads or supports enterprise IT initiatives at the hospital, such as EHR upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and initiatives to reduce technical debt within the hospital's data center. This role champions change management, staff training, and adoption of new technologies, leveraging enterprise resources and best practices. Additionally, it fosters strong relationships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and enterprise IT peers, and engages with external vendors and partners. The Director collaborates with hospital financial leaders on cost containment strategies and identifies opportunities for operational efficiencies through technology. Finally, the role leads, mentors, and develops the hospital IT team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth, and drives continuous improvement in IT service delivery and innovation.
