About The Position

MUFG is seeking an IT Quality Assurance Intern to support key initiatives within its Private Equity technology portfolio. This remote internship provides hands-on experience executing, scripting, and evaluating automated tests under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Manager. The role offers exposure to enterprise business applications and collaboration with technology teams responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining those systems.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Systems Engineering, Business Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Coursework, academic projects, or hands-on experience that includes coding or scripting in at least one programming language.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organized in a remote work environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and learn effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to tools such as Visio, Azure DevOps, or Power BI is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support test cycle preparation by reviewing requirements, understanding acceptance criteria, and helping ensure test data readiness.
  • Execute manual test cases to validate application functionality against business and technical requirements.
  • Reproduce reported defects and assist with re-testing to confirm fixes.
  • Translate manual test scenarios into scripted test automations with guidance from senior team members.
  • Execute existing automated test scripts and review results to identify failures, anomalies, or unexpected behavior.
  • Assist with troubleshooting basic issues in automated test scripts and escalate unresolved problems to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Log, track, and update test defects and results in Azure DevOps.
  • Support defect management activities, including assisting with defect severity and priority classification.
  • Help maintain the test automation code library by organizing scripts, updating documentation, and supporting routine maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and maintain QA documentation such as test evidence, meeting notes, knowledge articles, and internal communications.
  • Support test closure activities by validating resolved defects and assisting with closing work items in Azure DevOps.
  • Participate in Agile or project team meetings to gain exposure to the software development lifecycle and QA best practices.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, which may include supporting queries, reports, or dashboards in Azure DevOps and Power BI.
