About The Position

Abacus Technology is seeking an IT Property Custodian to support asset management for Hanscom AFB. This is a full-time position. The role involves assisting the Primary Property Custodian with IT asset-management and accountability responsibilities, ensuring compliance with various government and Air Force requirements. The IT Property Custodian will also serve as the alternate Property Custodian when appointed, performing duties such as asset reconciliations, documentation, and accountability actions. A key aspect of the role is ensuring customer organizations adhere to policies governing IT hardware asset management. This includes preparing and processing documentation for equipment issues, transfers, returns, and turn-ins through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) website. The position also requires managing the IT hardware lifecycle, completing local training, and utilizing approved tracking tools, databases, and SharePoint sites. Guidance will be provided to customer personnel on IT asset-management procedures. Additionally, the role involves preparing Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) communicators, identifying and tracking computer hardware, and supporting demilitarization (DEMIL) and disposition activities for classified assets.

Requirements

6+ years experience in IT property accountability, asset management, logistics, and inventory management.
HS diploma or GED.
Must be Security+ certified.
Experience with Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office.
Familiar with computer hardware and peripheral devices for asset identification, inventory, and tracking purposes.
Ability to obtain and maintain authorization to operate a government vehicle, including vehicles up to 1.5 tons.
Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience using government asset-management systems, tracking databases, SharePoint sites, or related inventory-control tools.
Experience preparing DD Forms 1297 and 1348-1A.
Familiar with DLA turn-in processes and MICT requirements.
Able to resolve issues accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
Must have strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Primary Property Custodian with IT asset-management and accountability responsibilities, including compliance with local ECO, DoW, Air Force, and other applicable requirements.
Serve as the alternate Property Custodian when appointed and perform associated duties at the request of the Primary Property Custodian, including asset reconciliations, custodial documentation, and accountability actions.
Ensure customer organizations comply with government, Air Force, and local policies and regulations governing IT hardware asset management.
Prepare required documentation for equipment issues, transfers, returns, and accountability actions.
Prepare and process turn-in documentation through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) website.
Perform IT hardware lifecycle-management activities in accordance with established guidance and procedures.
Complete required local training and use approved tracking tools, databases, and SharePoint sites to manage unit IT property.
Provide guidance to customer organization personnel on IT asset-management procedures and accountability requirements.
Prepare Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) communicators for government review, approval, and validation, as required.
Identify, track, and maintain accountability of computer hardware, accessories, and peripheral devices.
Support demilitarization (DEMIL) and disposition activities for classified assets in accordance with applicable NSA, DoW, and local security requirements.
