About The Position

Guidehouse is hiring an IT Project Manager to join one of our Department of State teams to lead and enhance governance processes across the public diplomacy technology portfolio. This role will be pivotal in driving strategic alignment, process improvement, and lifecycle management for IT governance. The candidate will work with government counterparts to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: Oversee the monitoring and continuous improvement of the IT governance lifecycle, ensuring alignment to CPIC, federal IT management, and organizational strategic priorities. Lead IT project management activities across the portfolio, including development of project plans, schedules, dependencies, requirements, risk registers, and change-control processes. Drive CPIC activities such as investment planning, business case development, budget submissions, and performance tracking in accordance with federal and agency guidance. Develop, refine, and report on metrics and key performance indicators to support executive decision‑making and continuous improvement. Coordinate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, document system/business requirements, and support traceability throughout the project lifecycle. Identify, assess, and manage project and portfolio-level risks; recommend mitigation strategies; and escalate issues as appropriate. Support the integration of TBM practices to improve transparency into IT spend, cost modeling, and value management. Provide strategic insights to align projects with evolving organizational goals and ensure the technology portfolio delivers measurable mission impact. Collaborate with government counterparts and cross-functional teams to drive process improvement and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience in IT Project Management roles, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology initiatives.
  • Expertise in federal IT governance and CPIC processes.
