IT Project Manager

Power Design•Petersburg, FL
•Onsite

About The Position

Power Design's Information Technology (IT) organization plans, prioritizes, and delivers technology work across the company through a lean, outcome-driven program model. Working within the IT department at our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL, the IT Project Manager owns two things: delivering projects that trace to real business objectives, and serving as the front door for technology requests from business functions that do not have a dedicated IT relationship owner (Legal, Business Development, Marketing, Executive, and others). If you can turn "we need an app for this" into a scoped problem statement, then drive the resulting work to completion, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of IT project management experience delivering business applications or technology initiatives end to end.
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals: scope, schedule, dependencies, risk, and stakeholder communication.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Jira and Confluence, including boards, dashboards, and structured fields.
  • Ability to push back constructively: say "no" or "not now" to a business stakeholder, explain why, and preserve the relationship.
  • Comfortable operating with narrow decision rights and wide input. Knows when to decide and when to escalate.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels, from field teams to the executive team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment with firm commitments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly become proficient with the applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and industry.
  • Demonstrate and uphold all of Power Design's core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with demand intake, business analysis, or requirements discovery is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Kanban and quarterly planning is a plus; no framework certification required.
  • Jira Service Management (JSM) experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own outcomes, roadmap, dependencies, and budgeted hours for assigned projects across executive-sponsored and business-driven initiatives.
  • Plan and track all work in Jira as the single source of truth for status, dates, and blockers.
  • Keep Confluence program pages and release notes current.
  • Participate in quarterly planning with the CTO, Program Managers, and Tech Leads; run mid-quarter reassessments and contribute to the monthly health check.
  • Manage priority and scope within your projects.
  • Escalate cross-team conflicts and strategic scope changes to the CTO with a clear impact assessment.
  • Plan around shared specialists allocated to other initiatives. Resequence and communicate rather than negotiate for resources one-on-one.
  • Serve as intake owner for technology requests from business functions without a domain lane, whether they arrive directly or are routed through a service ticket.
  • Lead the discovery conversation: identify the real problem behind the requested solution, check whether the existing portfolio already solves it, define scope, and flag integration and data-sensitivity concerns.
  • Produce a routable requirement and coordinate point evaluations from security, integration, infrastructure, and build-vs-buy owners.
  • Bring a recommendation back to the requester and leadership.
  • Give requesters a clear answer: scheduled, not now, buy instead of build, or manual for now.
