About The Position

The IT Project Manager is responsible for providing end-to-end project management and leadership for managing complex and high risks projects. With supervision, this position will oversee project budgets and schedules; managing day-to-day aspects of project scope; minimizing project risk; creating and managing project plans. The IT Project Manager must elicit, accurately characterize, and document project goals, scope, stakeholders, risks, issues, success measures, effort, and resource estimates. This position will coordinate the completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. They will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor, and summarize progress of project, and report the status of projects to management. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring all PMO requirements are met. This includes following the Phase/Gate process and will be responsible for presenting all project artifacts during gate reviews. This role will report to the Senior Manager - Project Delivery and work closely with the PMO. The Manager – Project Delivery will be critical to the success of transformative projects and initiatives at US LBM and our portfolio of companies, playing a key role as the company continues its aggressive growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field required.
  • 4-6 years of project management experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with either Agile or waterfall project management techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability leading a small to medium sized project teams.
  • Technical competency in IT/Systems, combined with business acumen to understand and translate between business and technical requirements.
  • Have an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and be comfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess excellent communications skills and organizational awareness.
  • Must be a leader with the knowledge and experience to "get things done.”
  • Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skill, including written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to direct multiple projects in parallel in a highly matrix, fast-paced, multi-site organization experiencing rapid growth.
  • Ability to map related tasks into a plan and communicate interdependencies with other projects and programs.
  • Ability to track and coordinate resources and tasks across multiple organizations and/or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects with the goal of achieving project success in the areas of Scope, Schedule, Budget and realized Benefits.
  • Identify project options, develops business cases, and secures required approvals.
  • Lead requirements gathering and planning process, working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Define the appropriate project scope, aligned to corporate strategies.
  • Identify and manage critical paths, being mindful of upstream and downstream dependencies.
  • Ensure coordination with other key initiatives, and addresses and resolve project conflicts.
  • Develop project plans, key milestone schedules, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and tracks actuals.
  • Review actuals versus planned budget throughout project lifecycle to identify variances and recommend corrective action.
  • Track and manage the project schedule and its dependencies.
  • Facilitate PMO level reviews of the project status and health.
  • Ensure issues and risks are managed, mitigated, and communicated to senior leadership.
  • Apply change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required for our change initiatives.
  • Understand and manage the scope of small and medium sized projects, considering business requirements, budget, resources, and capabilities.
  • Work with IT and Business partners to identify and schedule all the work for end-to-end deployment required to fulfill the project requirements.
  • Ensure project milestones are accomplished and overall committed timelines are met.
  • Communicate updates on major milestones and keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
  • Identify and manage proposed changes to projects, working with business stakeholders and project managers to ensure appropriate processes and communications are followed.
