About The Position

Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, the IT Project Manager facilitates the planning, governance, and delivery of technology initiatives across AOA�s ecosystem and core infrastructure. This position collaborates with IT leadership, business owners, and vendors to manage approved initiatives that are complex and cross-functional. The IT Project Manager coordinates system-level work and helps ensure initiatives are defined, governed effectively, and delivered within the established scope. Additionally, this role reinforces AOA�s IT governance framework by ensuring work follows standardized intake and decision-making protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor�s degree in business, information technology, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of work managing complex, large-scale projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Infrastructure.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, risk management, change management, and user acceptance testing, with a track record of successfully leading IT projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience gathering, refining, and prioritizing requirements.
  • Experience with managing governance initiatives to guide strategy and prioritize initiatives across core enterprise systems.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to translate and bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing 3 rd party vendors.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana and MS Planner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an association, nonprofit, or member-based organization preferred.
  • PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar project management certification preferred
  • Strong understanding in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
  • Aptitude to learn and leverage new technologies
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management of AOA initiatives, including new implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements for infrastructure and enterprise projects.
  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders and translate business needs into functional requirements.
  • Work with IT team to identify the technical approach for each project and manage design, implementation, testing, and go-live phases.
  • Coordinate between stakeholders, internal IT team, and external vendors to ensure alignment and clear communication throughout the project life cycle.
  • In partnership with IT Leadership, conduct regular check-ins with business system owners to identify system-level issues, enhancement needs, and cross-platform dependencies.
  • Ensure system change requests and enterprise initiatives follow established IT governance processes and are prioritized to align with strategic goals and potential user impact.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Implement best practices in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies to drive efficiency.
  • In partnership with IT Leadership, monitor progress of IT goals to help meet AOA�s strategic initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
