About The Position

Genesis Consulting has an immediate for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex software implementation and technology transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. The ideal candidate is a strong client-facing leader with experience driving cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery of enterprise technology solutions. This position emphasizes software and system implementations, with experience in ERP Platforms (e.g., SAP, S/4HANA, Concur) considered a plus.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing IT projects, with a focus on software implementation and system delivery.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders in a public sector/highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Experience managing full project lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable project plans and coordinate technical delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or enterprise platforms such as SAP (S/4HANA), SAP Concur, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar.
  • Exposure to financial systems, HR systems, or enterprise data integrations.
  • Familiarity with system integration concepts, APIs, middleware, and data migration.
  • PMP, Agile (Scrum/SAFe), or similar preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and occasionally travel to client site as needed (Estimated at Once per Quarter).

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software implementation projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and post-implementation support (hypercare/O&M).
  • Manage project scope, risks, issues, and changes, ensuring proactive mitigation and resolution.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination across business, technical, and vendor teams to ensure alignment and delivery success.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and key decisions.
  • Drive Agile or hybrid delivery approaches, including sprint planning, backlog management, and use of tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance, standards, and best practices.
  • Support system integration efforts, including coordination across multiple platforms, data flows, and external vendors.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution oversight, and defect resolution.
  • Oversee change management, training, and user adoption activities to ensure successful implementation outcomes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, deliverables, and performance expectations.
  • Support environment setup and maintenance across development, testing, and production landscapes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing reusable project assets, templates, and best practices.
