About The Position

The IT Project Manager plays a key role in helping achieve project objectives and in supporting the overall mission of the Choctaw Nation by providing support to a range of IT projects. The role of the IT Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a technical/business discipline or a minimum of four years’ experience in a professional environment or 4 years related experience.
2 years’ additional relevant experience
Interest in obtaining a project management certification (CAPM/PMP)
Proficiency in use of MS Office, Visio, and Teams
Must be comfortable working in an accountable and deadline-oriented environment and maintain flexible working hours

Responsibilities

Assists in updating project documents, coordinates logistics for meetings of cross-functional workgroups and project steering committees.
Works projects of limited size, scope, and complexity. Supports activities of small-medium sized project teams, which may include consultants or 3rd party vendors, controlling the indirect management of resources and schedules to ensure timely completion.
Learning to use professional concepts, using company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can readily be obtained.
Normally receives detailed instruction on all work.
Little ability to influence is expected. Maintains relationships with peers.
Escalates issues and obstacles to manager.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide support for cross-departmental projects, including process improvements for both the customer-facing and internal operations teams.
Communicates within team; learning to communicate effectively.
Receives direction on adjusting plans of action in response to changes in priority. Shifts project team focus in response to newly identified risks or issues.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
