About The Position

The IT Project Manager II will generate custom reports, ad hoc queries, and statistical information from large data sets for partners across campus. Maintain a working knowledge of database structure and database development. Develop and implement custom applications within the office using a variety of development languages. Analyze, troubleshoot, and work with stakeholders to identify and resolve aid program related issues. Demonstrate a working knowledge of student ISIRs and COD file imports. Exhibit a working knowledge of University of Arkansas student information system (Workday) and be able to assist other users in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Recommends changes or updates in programming, documentation, and training to address system deficiencies and user needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, computer applications, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years of experience in computer support and data analysis OR Completion of technical training in computer science, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting
  • At least four years of experience in computer support and data analysis
  • Knowledge of the limitations and use of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and software
  • Ability to analyze computer system problems or errors and devise corrective measures
  • Ability to write moderately complex applications to fulfill requirements or select appropriate off-the-shelf software and modify to suit the agency or institution
  • Ability to code, test, and debug computer programs and write program documentation
  • Ability to critically analyze policies/procedures and develop streamlined solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret technical literature and evaluate product acceptability and/or quality
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Financial Aid process as it relates to communication between institution, examples: COD, NSLDS, ADHE (SAMS), ScholarNet, Scholarship America
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, and Unix
  • Experience working with student information systems, examples: PeopleSoft, Slate, Hobsons
  • Experience with the University of Arkansas systems, specifically Workday Student, Human Capital Management, or Finance , and applicable UA software
  • Experience working with enterprise software such as Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Familiarity with coding of the following languages: Python, Perl, SQL
