IT Project Engineer

The Proactive Technology Group•Nassau, NY
•$75,000 - $95,000•Onsite

About The Position

The IT Project Engineer is based onsite at the company’s Greenvale, New York office and supports client environments across Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island, with approximately 50% travel to client sites. Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the engineer independently leads small projects, partners with the Project Manager and service team on larger engagements, and serves as the technical point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. The role focuses on hands-on technology design, configuration, and deployment. The engineer delivers projects from kickoff through closeout, executes technical plans and scopes, identifies and communicates risks and dependencies, and coordinates with vendors, ISPs, and client stakeholders. Implementation work includes Microsoft 365 and related services, identity and endpoint management, Windows Server and Azure, firewalls, switches, wireless networks, migrations, endpoint deployments, security implementations, and office moves or buildouts. The engineer also creates technical documentation, diagrams, and runbooks in IT Glue; hands completed projects off to the service team; and uses Halo PSA and Ninja RMM for project tracking and endpoint work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with after-hours and weekend work as needed for cutovers and maintenance windows. The annual salary range is $75,000–$95,000.
