About The Position

The IT Project Coordinator is a key member of the IT Project Management Office, supporting project delivery across business and IT teams. This role is central to Corning’s digital transformation initiatives, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered efficiently. The coordinator will work closely with Project Managers, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to manage project tasks, schedules, finances, and quality governance, leveraging agile practices where possible. Strong collaboration, attention to detail, and communication are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years working as an IT project team member; Quality Analyst experience preferred.
  • Strong desire to grow into a Project Manager role.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation and collaboration skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets.
  • Analytical skills to identify project risks and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work independently.
  • Advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Effective conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Planview for resource and financial management.
  • Quality Management experience – OpenText ALM (Quality Center).
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative).
  • Power BI report creation or other reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of Confluence, Planview, and Agile tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, including SOX.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and processes.
  • Introductory Scrum or Agile certifications/training.
  • AI-based testing experience.
  • Project management or agile certifications are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with project planning, resource administration, and financial tracking.
  • Maintain project documentation, including SDLC and quality plans, metrics, and approvals.
  • Monitor cross-project dependencies and report status to leadership.
  • Facilitate quality inspections and manage testing activities, including system, integration, regression, performance, and UAT.
  • Manage defect lifecycle, including triage, reporting, and resolution coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX) throughout project lifecycles.
  • Prepare project presentations, updates, and reports.
  • Support adoption of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Confluence, Planview).
