IT PROGRAMMER
About The Position
The IT Programmer/Developer is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, automating, and supporting the Credit Union's business applications, reporting environment, and enterprise data solutions. This role partners closely with business leaders to understand operational needs and translate them into secure, scalable technology solutions that improve efficiency, enhance the member experience, and support strategic decision-making. The position serves as a technical resource for Symitar programming, business intelligence, reporting, workflow automation, system integrations, and application development. Responsibilities include designing reports and dashboards, developing custom applications and interfaces, automating manual processes, maintaining data integrity, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting enterprise technology initiatives. This role works collaboratively across all departments, including Lending, Operations, Finance, HR, Marketing, Compliance, and Information Technology—to improve business processes through technology while ensuring solutions align with security, regulatory, and governance standards. Success in this position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to balance technical expertise with a customer-service mindset. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex business problems, continually learning emerging technologies, and identifying opportunities to improve organizational efficiency through automation and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Three or more years of experience supporting financial institution systems or enterprise business applications.
- Experience with SQL, JavaScript, .NET, C#, APIs, web services, and database development.
- Strong understanding of systems integration and automation.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- This position requires prolonged sitting and computer use, frequent typing and document handling, regular communication with members and vendors, and the ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Symitar/Jack Henry programming (PowerOn, RepGen, Quest, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Azure, or cloud technologies preferred.
Responsibilities
