About The Position

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Programmer-IT Applications at a mid- to senior level. Under the direction of the IT Deputy Director of Application Development the Programmer designs, develops, implements, and maintains software that provide service to the Supreme Court of Ohio and it partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Three or more years of experience required in an applications development discipline.
• Proven experience with Microsoft development technologies.
• Skill in interpreting and leveraging data insights.
• Strong organizational abilities in managing application development projects, prioritizing workloads, and estimating work time requirements.
• The ability to interact and effectively communicate with supervisor, co-workers, justices, attorneys and/or the public.
• Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively either verbally or in writing.
• Crafting clear, concise, professional correspondence while ensuring accuracy in grammar, spelling, and document formatting.
• The ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information.
• Ability to design effective and efficient user interface components of applications that meet business requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing and managing Microsoft SQL databases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project management team to refine technical software requirements.
• Create products to visualize and communicate software designs.
• Efficiently develop software solutions in accordance with project requirements using modern development technologies and JavaScript libraries, either individually or as part of a team.
• Provide effective resources and time estimates for designed solutions.
• Create technical documentation to support the maintenance of developed solutions.
• Track and manage source code changes in a team environment using source control management tools.
• Collaborate with database administrators and other analysts to design and create database structures including tables, procedures, views, and functions.
• Thoroughly test software solutions for reliability.
• Monitor the operation of software solutions, provide support to end users, and develop software patches ensuring proper operation.
• Train and support court staff members in the use of developed applications.
• Through code review, ensure that software products adhere to best practices.
• Work under supervision as an IT liaison to designated court offices.
