The Nevada Department of Transportation is hiring for an IT Professional 4 - Network Administration in Carson City, NV. This position serves as a senior technical resource for firewall engineering and network security policy administration across NDOT's on-premises, cloud, and secure access environments. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining firewall policies, segmentation controls, VPN-related security controls, logging, monitoring, high availability, capacity planning, configuration standards, and related network security services. The position reviews firewall and access requests for business need, security impact, least-privilege access, routing dependencies, operational risk, and compliance with standards. The incumbent develops implementation plans, testing and rollback steps, change records, technical documentation, and validation evidence to support reliable operations and approved change-management processes. The position coordinates closely with network architecture, security, infrastructure, cloud, service desk, application, project, vendor, and business teams, and provides technical consultation, recommendations, and documentation for complex firewall and network security initiatives. The candidate selected for this position will have experience designing, administering, and lifecycle-managing enterprise firewall and network security policy environments · Experience reviewing firewall or network access requests for least privilege, business need, routing dependencies, security impact, and operational risk. Experience supporting cloud network security controls or hybrid cloud connectivity.
