About The Position

The PC Support Specialist I position is responsible for installing personal computer hardware, software and networking equipment, diagnosing personal computers problems, answering user questions related to personal computers and coordinating repair services. This role provides excellent customer service to all Gregory Poole Associates, Customers, and outside Partners. The specialist installs personal computer hardware, software and networking equipment by following established industry and departmental practices and procedures. They test and debug personal computer hardware, software and networking problems by utilizing problem determination and resolution skills and following established departmental guidelines. The role involves developing and maintaining documentation related to personal computer hardware, software and networking equipment by following established departmental procedures. Additionally, the specialist coordinates preventive maintenance and repair services by understanding individual user needs and working with vendor maintenance personnel. They assist users in efficient and effective use of personal computer technology by understanding their requirements and the capabilities and limitations of the technology. The specialist answers user questions on personal computer software, hardware and networking equipment by understanding the user’s situation and being knowledgeable of the capabilities of the technology. They track and report time, status and related issues on projects and other activities using established IT Help Desk ticketing system. Specific job objectives and performance goals for an individual are developed yearly by the Associate and the department manager and become part of the requirements for the position. The role also requires keeping abreast of new technology and business methodologies available from vendors by attending seminars, reviewing trade periodicals and talking with peers in GPEC and other companies that can affect the operation of the company’s information systems.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with two additional years of P.C. support experience
  • A minimum of 2 years directly related experience.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, Microsoft Windows Operating System, and basic networking principles.
  • Lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Periodic travel to GPEC branch locations in all states.
  • Some overnight travel is required.
  • Valid drivers license.
