About The Position

Oceaneering is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to join their team. This role involves protecting the organization from cyberattacks by monitoring systems, reviewing configuration anomalies, and evaluating threats. The intern will identify vulnerabilities in computer networks and system deployments, implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access, and document findings for future mitigation. This is a paid Summer Internship Program running from early June to early August, focusing on OT Cybersecurity. The intern will work closely with a mentor to gain real-world experience in IT and OT security, contributing to the defense of computer hardware, software, and systems against cyber threats.

Requirements

  • 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student at an accredited University, pursuing a degree associated with Cybersecurity.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, IT Security applications and tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Interested in work experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in information security or related field.
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
  • Understanding of firewalls, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts.
  • Ability to research and identify solution vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor computer networks for security issues.
  • Investigate security events and other cybersecurity configurations.
  • Request security measures and operating configurations to protect systems and information infrastructure, including Operating Systems and data management programs.
  • Document security configurations, events and assess the damage or risk they cause.
  • Work with the OT Cyber security team to perform tests and uncover system vulnerabilities and help document.
  • Request adjustments to detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
  • Stay current on Information Technology (IT) and OT security trends and news.
  • Assist in developing company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Perform penetration testing and Vulnerability scanning.
  • Help colleagues review security software and understand information security management.
