About The Position

Scot Forge Company is looking to hire one IT Cybersecurity Intern for the Summer of 2027 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. This internship will provide exposure to an IT team supporting a manufacturing environment through daily cybersecurity tasks and projects.

Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Networking, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
Rising Junior or higher at the start of the internship
Hands-on experience or a basic understanding of cybersecurity, operating systems, or networking (coursework, labs, or projects)
Comfort independently researching technical questions, troubleshooting, and documenting findings
Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today

Nice To Haves

Networking or host security (for example, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VLANs, or Windows / Linux)
Identity and access management (for example, MFA or Microsoft Entra ID)
Cybersecurity tools (for example, vulnerability scanners, endpoint security, SIEM, or network-security tools)
Scripting or automation (for example, PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
Cybersecurity frameworks or certifications (for example, NIST, CIS Controls, Zero Trust, Security+, or Network+)

Responsibilities

Cybersecurity assessments, risk identification, and vulnerability management or remediation
Reviewing identity, device, and application security configurations
Security monitoring and investigations with the IT team
Documentation of standards, procedures, and security controls
Security awareness or improvement initiatives, including exposure to IT and manufacturing OT environments
