About The Position

HF Sinclair is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for Summer 2027 located in Dallas, TX. This intern will gain hands-on experience in Security Operations, Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Project Management, implementing and managing the capabilities that help ensure the secure and resilient operations of HF Sinclair.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Program for Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related discipline is required.
Proficient in M365 Suite of Tools
Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
Strong interest in technology and cybersecurity
Effective communication skills written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Exposure to AI, analytics, or programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist the Cyber GRC team in policy and document management, including the revision and creation.
Support of the Third-Party Cyber Risk Management Program (TPCRM), including vendor assessments and monitoring activities.
Aid in documenting cyber maturity assessments, providing input to the enterprise cyber strategy.
Assist in monitoring security alerts from SIEM and other Cybersecurity tools, learning to spot common threats and aid initial event and incident response under guidance.
Assist in monitoring security alerts with SIEM tools, learning to spot common threats and aid initial incident response under guidance.
Assist in phishing response efforts by reviewing reported suspicious emails, documenting indicators, and supporting basic mitigation under supervision.
Assist the Cybersecurity Project Manager in collecting and reporting on project status.
Participate in special security assignments or projects as assigned by your supervisor.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
