About The Position

Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for an IT Operations Team Manager for the Network Engineering team. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 14+ years related IT experience, or BA/BS degree with 10+ years of related IT experience, or MS degree with 8+ years of related IT experience

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • US citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred background in Network Engineering and Sustainment – deep domain knowledge is advantageous but not a prerequisite if strong leadership qualities are present
  • An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.
  • Prior management experience leading 7-14 IT professionals and demonstrated talent management/development
  • Experience with matrixed organizations
  • Experience with technical project management
  • Previous success in developing standards, process improvement, and managing processes
  • Working technical knowledge of network, storage, server, and database technologies
  • Ability to review, analyze, document, and explain technical systems and data

Responsibilities

  • Supervising multiple staff, including recruiting/hiring, training/personnel development, coaching and counseling employees, technical reviews, and business continuity
  • Providing technical oversight and recommended paths forward for implementation of technical solutions
  • Ensuring high up-time of information systems, taking into account high availability, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
  • Identify technology opportunities and develop system strategies and roadmaps
  • Ensuring best practices are followed
  • Identifying and implementing system and process improvements
  • Tracking service metrics, review problems, incidents, and delays and seek improvement opportunities
  • Analyzing and documenting processes and procedures
  • Developing and assisting in the development of external and internal reporting and briefing
  • Ability to present complex technical issues and solutions to an unskilled audience
  • Performing other duties as assigned
