IT Operations Specialist

NexSan Jose, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

Nex is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented IT Operations Specialist to manage day-to-day IT operations. This hybrid role, based in San Jose, CA, involves owning device lifecycle management, workspace networking, and access provisioning, with remote support for the Hong Kong office. The specialist will be crucial in ensuring employee productivity, security, and reliable technology as the company scales. The ideal candidate is a proactive, service-oriented problem solver capable of end-to-end ownership and independent execution, while collaborating with a global team. This role also partners closely with the Information Security team. Opportunities exist for growth into IT strategy, procurement, or infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT support, IT operations, or systems administration.
  • Hands-on experience with device management (e.g., MDM tools such as Jamf, Intune, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of corporate account and productivity platforms (e.g., Google Workspace admin console).
  • Familiarity with core networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls) and videoconferencing hardware/software (e.g., Zoom Rooms).
  • Experience with endpoint security tools (anti-virus/EDR) and basic access-control administration (e.g., 2FA).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a service-oriented approach to internal IT support.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with colleagues across time zones (Hong Kong, U.S. and Europe).

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to device management strategy (e.g., MDM/MAID tooling selection and roadmap) or corporate account strategy (e.g., Google Workspace), balancing security with operational efficiency.
  • Exposure to access provisioning and security strategy for more sensitive systems (e.g., contributing to 2FA/MFA policy, not just administering standard access).
  • Exposure to business application procurement, contract negotiation, or vendor management.
  • Exposure to ownership of shared infrastructure (e.g., cloud systems, data lake) across multiple teams.
  • Exposure to ownership of customer-facing systems (e.g., Shopify, corporate websites).
  • Experience supporting a hybrid or multi-office environment.
  • Experience in consumer tech, gaming, or hardware companies.

Responsibilities

  • Own device procurement, provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, resets, and redeployment across the corporate device fleet.
  • Administer IT access provisioning and security for less-sensitive systems (e.g., maintaining admin lists, standard user access).
  • Maintain corporate device information security, including anti-virus and endpoint protection tools.
  • Administer corporate workspace IT and networking infrastructure — Wi-Fi, server room equipment, and videoconferencing — for the San Jose office.
  • Provide remote support for Hong Kong office networking and videoconferencing systems.
  • Respond to day-to-day employee IT support requests (helpdesk tickets) with speed and clarity.
  • Ownership and maintenance of internal IT-owned systems and infrastructure for shared use by multiple functional groups.
  • Support on business applications and systems procurement, contract negotiation and budget management.
  • Support delivery of employee IT security training (e.g., anti-phishing awareness) in coordination with InfoSec.
  • Provide input on device management strategy (e.g., MDM/MAID tooling) based on day-to-day operational experience.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and support tickets for outsourced IT operations, as directed.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
  • Product-driven culture that treasures talents and individual growth.
  • Front-row seat and hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies in the evolving gaming field.
