IT Operations Manager

About The Position

Codelitt is a software production company that bridges the gap between AI hype and measurable business impact. Carbon Residential is a vertically integrated real estate company that acquires, operates, and manages multifamily communities across the United States. We are looking for an IT Operations Manager who will support both organizations and take ownership of the systems, accounts, hardware, and day-to-day technology our teams rely on to do their jobs. About the Role We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on IT Operations Manager to own and improve internal IT operations across Codelitt and Carbon Residential. Both organizations operate with highly distributed teams, making reliable access, strong security practices, well-managed hardware, and responsive remote support essential. You will be responsible for managing employee accounts and access across our software platforms, supporting onboarding and offboarding, maintaining our hardware inventory, resolving IT support requests, administering SaaS tools, and helping ensure employees follow appropriate security practices. This is not a traditional office IT position. You will not spend your time maintaining printers or supporting an office network. Instead, your environment consists primarily of remote employees, laptops, cloud-based applications, identity and access management, SaaS platforms, security controls, and remote troubleshooting. This is also not a DevOps or software infrastructure position. Our engineering teams are responsible for production applications, cloud infrastructure, deployments, and application environments. Your focus will be the technology used by our people to securely and effectively do their jobs. We want someone who doesn't simply respond to tickets. You should continuously identify opportunities to automate processes, improve documentation, reduce manual work, strengthen security, and make our IT operations more scalable.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in IT operations, IT administration, systems administration, corporate IT, or a similar role.

  • Organization: Accounts, devices, permissions, licenses, and requests don't fall through the cracks.
  • Security mindset: You understand that convenient access should never come at the expense of responsible security practices.
  • Bias toward action: You proactively solve problems instead of waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Communication: Employees understand what is happening and what they need to do.
  • Patience: You can support employees with very different levels of technical knowledge.
  • Attention to detail: Small mistakes in permissions, offboarding, or device tracking can create significant problems.
  • Curiosity: You enjoy learning new systems and figuring out how they work.
  • Process thinking: When you solve a problem, you think about how to prevent or simplify it next time.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: You can take an incomplete IT problem, investigate it, and determine the appropriate solution.
