IT Operations Manager

Lab37Pittsburgh, PA
$106,000 - $128,000Onsite

About The Position

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the company’s technology assets, including hardware, software, and subscriptions, are optimized across their full lifecycle. You’ll be the primary in person support for Lab37 while partnering with larger teams in our Los Angeles office to ensure all Lab37 personnel have in person support from their first day to their last. You’ll range from supporting account access and video conference rooms, to supporting larger IT projects as the company grows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility in IT Operations, Systems Administration, or a hands-on IT Engineering role.
  • Experience in a fast-paced hardware, robotics, or startup environment is a major plus.
  • Deep hands-on experience managing Active Directory or modern Identity Providers (IdPs) like Azure AD/Entra ID or Okta.
  • Strong technical competency with SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC) and automated user management via SCIM.
  • Proven experience provisioning, troubleshooting, and managing both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Direct experience administering and supporting developer/engineering ecosystems—familiarity with GitHub and Jira is required.
  • An operational builder who can strategize systems-level workflows on a slide deck, but maintains a "no task too small" startup attitude to personally configure hardware and support day-to-day team needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Solidworks is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage our identity lifecycle, connecting our HR system of record to Active Directory/Identity Providers to automate user provisioning, access groups, and core security workflows.
  • Personally handle the configuration, imaging, deployment, and recovery of Mac and PC laptops for local employees.
  • Support new hire onboarding and training for all things IT.
  • Lead the integration of Single Sign-On (SSO) and SCIM provisioning for core application suites to eliminate manual access checklists and enhance company security.
  • Act as the primary on-site IT leader for the Lab37 team, partnering closely with our wider help desk team in Los Angeles to triage, resolve, and escalate technical issues.
  • Administer and secure company productivity and developer tools (including Jira and GitHub), managing access rights, third-party integrations, and lightweight access reviews.
  • Develop, test, and execute IT operation playbooks, including emergency offboarding protocols, data backup verification, and endpoint security.
  • Ensure optimal video conferencing support to ensure everyone stays connected.
  • Managing future budgets and contracts for future systems we may need to Lab37 as we grow and our needs change.
