About The Position

Amentum is seeking an IT Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee the design, implementation, operations, and maintenance of IT infrastructure. This role involves managing IT Operations personnel, interfacing with clients to optimize network performance within budget and cybersecurity constraints, and ensuring customer needs are met. The manager will lead the IT Operations and Maintenance (IT O&M) Department, ensuring the reliable and secure operation of the LM Enterprise Network and providing help desk and desktop support. Key responsibilities include communicating with clients to understand goals and provide status updates, ensuring excellent customer service, managing fiscal year budgets, providing employee feedback and mentorship, coordinating staff recruitment, approving Standard IT Operating Procedures (SOPs), and representing the company professionally. A strong technical background in Microsoft solutions, enterprise servers, storage, networks, and virtualization is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience.
  • 5 years of IT experience in leadership.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience in IT Operations and/or IT Projects.
  • Experience with Leading Technical Teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience managing department budget.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated focus on exemplary customer service.
  • Technical background in enterprise environments to support team interaction, project estimation, and project management engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT Operations and Maintenance (IT O&M) Department personnel ensuring each team member performs his/her job safely.
  • Ensure the reliable and secure operation of the LM Enterprise Network.
  • Provide help desk and desktop support to LM clients and LMSP customers.
  • Communicate with the Client and LMSP customers to understand short-term and long-term goals including desired upgrades to the Network and provide status of IT O&M activities.
  • Ensure the IT O&M team provides excellent customer service by understanding the needs of the LMSP customer and the mission of DOE-Legacy Management.
  • Manage Fiscal Year budgets for IT O&M.
  • Identify and provide constructive feedback to employees and provide mentorship as appropriate.
  • Actively coordinate the recruitment of staff.
  • Approve Standard IT Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Network Operations Team.
  • Represent LM and LMSP in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical skills and proficiency with design, implementation, and support of Microsoft solutions, enterprise server, storage, network, and virtualization components.
  • Other duties as assigned.
