About The Position

Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Reliable, drama-free IT operations are foundational to these efforts. We are a small and motivated team, and as an IT Operations Engineer on Stoke Space’s Information Technology team, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Launch Complex and Launch Control Center at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This is a hands-on generalist role responsible for supporting the full range of technology needs for personnel operating in these critical environments. You will support everything from computers, printers, phones, applications, peripherals, and user access issues to complex troubleshooting of workstations, conference rooms, network connectivity, operational systems, and technical infrastructure. You’ll work directly with engineers, operators, technicians, and business teams in a fast-moving startup environment as we accelerate toward the first launch of Nova. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical support or IT operations role
  • 4+ years of experience in IT support, desktop engineering, systems support, helpdesk, or technical operations
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve common and complex software, hardware, endpoint, connectivity, and user access issues
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, and basic network troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting printers, peripherals, conference rooms, AV systems, and shared workplace technology
  • Comfortable working in operational, industrial, launch, manufacturing, or field environments where priorities can change quickly
  • Able to stoop, bend, crawl, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Unbeatable drive and ownership, with a willingness to act proactively to find solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting IT systems in aerospace, manufacturing, launch operations, test operations, or other high-reliability environments
  • Experience supporting CAD, engineering, test, telemetry, or operational software tools
  • Experience with mobile device management and endpoint management platforms
  • Experience with identity and access management systems
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Slack, Confluence, or similar business systems
  • Experience with endpoint security tooling, device compliance, patching, and asset management
  • Experience troubleshooting AV, camera, display, and control room technology
  • Experience working in regulated environments, including ITAR, CUI, NIST 800-171, or similar security requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain computers, phones, printers, peripherals, conference rooms, and other IT systems used across the Launch Complex and Launch Control Center
  • Serve as a primary IT point of contact for personnel working at the launch site, providing responsive support for day-to-day technical issues
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, access, and application issues across Windows, macOS, and common business systems
  • Troubleshoot complex computer and user environment problems, including performance issues, device configuration, account access, endpoint security tooling, and application behavior
  • Setup workstations, accounts, devices, and IT resources for new employees and visiting personnel
  • Support operational readiness by ensuring critical IT systems, user workstations, printers, displays, communications tools, and shared technology resources are functional and reliable
  • Configure, support, and maintain audio/video/camera systems used for meetings, launch operations, video conferencing, and facility security
  • Assist with network troubleshooting, including wired and wireless connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLAN-related issues, and basic switch port troubleshooting
  • Install, terminate, label, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling, including network, controls systems, and AV wiring
  • Support IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, infrastructure improvements, hardware deployments, and launch-site technology buildout
  • Provide technical assistance to engineering, avionics, software, manufacturing, test, and launch operations teams as needed
  • Monitor hardware inventory, manage IT assets, and help maintain accurate documentation of systems and configurations
  • Escalate issues when appropriate while maintaining ownership through resolution
  • Provide a high level of service to ensure an exceptional end user experience
  • All other duties as assigned
