About The Position

The IT Operating Manager – MES & MDS is responsible for leading delivery, operations, and continuous improvement of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Manufacturing Data Systems (MDS). This role partners closely with Manufacturing and Operations leaders to execute MES implementations, ensure stable production support, and drive digital, analytics, and AI‑led productivity improvements across manufacturing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing IT, MES, or shop‑floor systems, including hands‑on MES implementation projects.
  • Strong understanding of discrete electronics manufacturing processes and production operations.
  • Experience managing application support and DevOps teams (build + run model).
  • Proven experience in global, cross-functional environments with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proven people management experience at a first‑line manager or supervisor level.
  • Strong leadership, communication, change management and execution capabilities
  • Proficiency in project management tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills
  • Familiarity with technology-driven environments and collaboration with technical team

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Siemens Opcenter MES or Critical Manufacturing MES
  • Experience with AWS‑hosted enterprise applications and analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing data, reporting, and AI/ML‑driven improvement initiatives.
  • Expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Lead MES implementation and enhancement initiatives across manufacturing sites, from requirements to go‑live and stabilization.
  • Own operational excellence for MES and MDS platforms, including production support, release management, and system reliability.
  • Manage DevOps teams supporting MES and AWS‑based manufacturing applications, including measurement analytics and test equipment calibration systems.
  • Drive adoption of automation, analytics, and AI use cases to improve manufacturing productivity, reduce downtime, and minimize manual effort.
  • Partner with business stakeholders for roadmap planning, prioritization, and execution of manufacturing digital initiatives.
  • Manage and develop globally distributed teams across US, Penang, and India; oversee vendor and system integrator engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with security, data integrity, and manufacturing governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and resource plans for all aspects of operations and projects.
  • Resolve conflicts, negotiate priorities, and balance competing demands while maintaining governance standards.
  • Own vendor engagement and performance management, including contract governance, Statement of Work (SOW) definition, execution oversight, and commercial controls.
