IT & Network Systems Administrator

TrusscoreKitchener, ON
CA$75,000 - CA$85,000Hybrid

About The Position

Trusscore is seeking an IT & Network Systems Administrator to be the primary IT resource for their Ontario operations. This role will manage day-to-day end-user support, device management, and network infrastructure across their Kitchener-Waterloo office, Palmerston manufacturing plant, and Experience Showroom. The administrator will work alongside a Calgary-based IT Administrator, with an external partner providing escalation and after-hours support. This is a hands-on position involving network infrastructure, endpoint management, M365 administration, and security tooling. The role also includes improving ticketing and asset management practices and shaping the future of IT delivery at Trusscore.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years+ of hands-on IT administration experience, including network infrastructure and end-user support.
  • Hands-on experience administering network infrastructure: TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, firewalls, and VPN configuration.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or industrial environment and exposure to working with PLC’s is strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 administration experience (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID; Intune an asset).
  • Experience supporting physically distributed users across multiple sites.
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning problems end-to-end without a large team behind you.
  • Strong communication skills — you will interface with non-technical Team Members regularly.
  • Valid G driver’s licence and ability to travel between KW, Palmerston, and Showroom sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi or similar enterprise wireless platforms.
  • Experience with plant-floor / OT-adjacent networking and production-critical systems.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (Azure or similar): virtual machines, storage, networking.
  • Microsoft certifications: MS-102, AZ-104, or equivalent (or working toward them).
  • Experience selecting and implementing an IT ticketing/ITSM platform.
  • Familiarity with EDR/RMM endpoint management tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administration of firewalls, switches, VLANs, and LAN/WLAN infrastructure across Ontario sites.
  • Own VPN and Agilicus (Zero-Trust) configuration and connectivity for Ontario Team Members.
  • Work with other teams to design and maintain resilient plant-floor networking at Palmerston, keeping production-critical systems online.
  • Provide first-response for site connectivity and firewall-layer incidents, escalating to external partners where deeper support is needed.
  • Maintain network documentation, configurations, and change records.
  • Manage device lifecycle: procurement, setup, imaging, deployment, and retirement.
  • Provide onboarding and offboarding support including account provisioning, hardware setup, and access management.
  • Own and administer the IT ticketing system; triage, track, and resolve requests with clear SLAs.
  • Support plant-floor technology at Palmerston: handhelds, tablets, label printing, and shop-floor workstations.
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, and related services.
  • Support SharePoint migrations and data management projects as needed.
  • Own software license and subscription management across the organization, including quarterly true-ups against headcount.
  • Help rationalize and optimize M365 and cloud spend over time.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts from endpoint detection and response (EDR/RMM) tooling.
  • Maintain patching cadence for endpoints and support security hardening across managed devices.
  • Support VPN and access control policy enforcement.
  • Work closely with the Calgary IT Administrator to standardize tooling, processes, and documentation across both regions.
  • Coordinate with the external partner on escalations, after-hours coverage, and project delivery for Ontario sites.
  • Contribute to IT roadmap planning, asset inventory, and policy documentation.
  • Occasional project work: networking at new locations, infrastructure upgrades, plant expansions.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Mileage reimbursement for inter-site travel.
  • A hands-on role with real scope and ownership — not a ticket queue.
  • A collaborative environment with an internal IT peer in Calgary and external partners for escalation and after-hours coverage.
  • Opportunity to shape how IT is built and delivered at a growing North American manufacturer.
