Supermicro team is seeking a IT Network Engineer to support daily operations of high-performance networking infrastructure within AI lab and data center environments. This role focuses on rack-level deployment, cabling, switch configuration support, and troubleshooting connectivity for GPU clusters and storage systems.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years hands-on data center networking and network operations experience
  • Strong understanding of: TCP/IP VLANs Subnetting Basic routing concepts
  • Experience with Cisco / Arista / similar switches
  • Comfortable working in lab / high-density rack environments
  • Basic Linux CLI familiarity
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges.
  • Strong project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic VPN understanding is a plus
  • Exposure to high-speed Ethernet (100G+) is a plus
  • Basic understanding of network topologies is a plus
  • Basic understanding of firewall & security is a plus
  • Basic understanding of GPU clusters is a plus
  • CCNA or similar network/security certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Rack & stack network switches (10G/25G/100G/200G/400G Ethernet)
  • Install and label fiber (QSFP, OSFP, DAC/AOC)
  • Configure switch ports (VLAN, trunk, access mode)
  • Support spine-leaf network deployments
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1–Layer 3 connectivity issues
  • Perform link validation (iperf, ping, basic throughput testing)
  • Support MLAG / LACP configuration under guidance
  • Replace failed optics, cables, or line cards
  • Monitor network health dashboards
  • Document lab topology and port mappings
  • Support GPU server connectivity and NIC validation
